Manage Dynamics Mobile opportunities

General

Dynamics Mobile Opportunities screen allows the partner to manage their business opportunities with Dynamics Mobile. The screen is used as a starting point to submit opportunities to the Dynamics Mobile Team.

Following the Dynamics Mobile Opportunity lifecycle, which can be tracked in the opportunities screen.

The new opportunity goes via the following statuses

  1. New Opportunity The Partner has secured a new opportunity where DM solutions can be a good fit. The Partner registers the Opportunity into the Partner Portal/Opportunity screen with status Draft.

  2. Partner Submitted The Partner finalized the Opportunity details and changes the Opportunity status to "Partner Submitted". This action will notify DM Sales team that a new opportunity is submitted. The goal of this stage is that the partner to receive a quote for the given opportunity.

  3. DM In Progress The DM Team received the "new opportunity" notification and changes the status to "DM In Progress". DM team may require more information by the partner via emails/calls.

  4. DM Quote Provided The DM Team finalizes the quote, attaches a PDF quote to the opportunity record and changes the status of the opportunity to "DM Quote Provided". The partner received notification via email. The Partner can download the quote and work on presenting the quote to their customer.

  5. Won The customer approves the quote ( e.g. a deal is about to be made), so the Partner changes the status of the opportunity to "Won"

  6. Lost In cases where the customer refuses the quote and a deal wont be made, the Partner marks the Opportunity with status "Lost"

  7. DM Refused In cases when the opportunity submitted does not comply with the Dynamics Mobile Opportunity compliance policy, the status of the opportunity is set to "DM Refused" and the opportunity is not longer available for modifications. The Partner can still copy the opportunity into new one and modify it and submit it so that it complies with the policy. The following general compliance rules must be met

    1. Company name, website must be valid and correspond to a real and relevant business

    2. The company shall not be locked/offered at the same time by another partner

    3. The partner must have a valid Partner Agreement

    4. Other internal rules and check ups can be applied by DM Team and be reason for refusal of an opportunity

Opportunity Status change will generate e-mail message to the notification contacts provided in Partner Portal/Settings

DM Team will start working over an opportunity only if the opportunity is properly registered in the Partner Portal

Opportunities Guide

When you create new opportunity or modify existing opportunity, be aware that chaning the status ( except Draft ) will send notifications to DM Team via email and will reflect in the DM Team CRM system.

How to register new opportunity

  1. Go to Partner Portal/Opportunities menu

  2. Click the [+] button on top-right

    1. Enter the required fields and make sure the Company, Subject and website are properly provided

    2. Select the proper solutions and enter proper subscription description, scope

    3. Enter contact info ( enter the salesperson contact information from partner side )

    4. Select proper Status ( Draft or Partner Submitted )

    5. Attach any additional materials (PDF, excels and others )

  3. Make sure the Opportunity has status Partner Submitted once finalized. This will allow DM Team to start working on it.

How to modify an opportunity

  1. Go to Partner Portal/Opportunities menu

  2. Select an opportunity from the list. Use the "magnifying glass" button on top right to search

  3. Once the opportunity record is selected, press ENTER from your keyboard or click the [pencil] button from top-right

  4. Click [Modify] button and enter the changes of your opportunity

  5. Click [Save] at the end

How to duplicate/copy opportunity

You can start creating a new opportunity based on old one.

  1. Select the original opportunity from the list

  2. Click the [Duplicate] button on top right

  3. Wait for the process to complete

  4. Find the newly copied opportunity and modify it

Copied opportunities goes into Draft status with new opportunity code and subject starting with "Copy of"

How to delete an opportunity

Opportunities can not be deleted - they can be only archived

You can use the "Archive" button on top to archive an opportunity.
